Introductory Statement

In the most basic sense, weddings are worship services focused on God, not ceremonies focused on people. With this kept in mind many issues regarding the preparations for weddings are clarified.
Weddings are worship services and are conducted in an atmosphere of dignity and reverence. At Trinity Christian Church, we hold these basic ideas when marriages are performed in our church. In an attempt to maintain our intentions about weddings, certain guidelines have been established that are included on this page.

Reservations

Appointments with the minister and a date for the wedding in the Sanctuary and/or reception in the Fellowship Hall should be made by contacting the church secretary at (817) 451-3752. This should be done at least 30 days prior to the actual wedding date. It is important that you complete the wedding form in the church office.

Premarital Counseling

The next step is to arrange a conference with the minister. At that time, premarital counseling will be arranged. The minister and couple will determine the number of counseling sessions, one of which will include discussing arrangements and type of ceremony. No couple will be married without preliminary conferences.

Wedding Music

Our church organist may be used provided her calendar permits. If you have a personal preference for an organist, that must be approved by our organist. The organist and wedding couple should visit early enough to have the music well planned and rehearsed. If you chose soloists or have ensembles, please allow ample time for practice. Selection of music should keep in mind that this is a worship service. The wedding party must make these arrangements.

Photography

Certain details add to the dignity and sacredness of the wedding ceremony. Flash pictures may be taken only during the processional and recessional. Posed pictures may be taken following the service. Please inform your photographer of this request.
Video taping of wedding ceremonies is permissible if those doing the taping do not use excessive lights and will adhere to the specified taping stations in the sanctuary as requested by the church.

Flowers and Candles

We recommend that you consider the beauty of the Sanctuary as you plan for flowers. Please have your florist, or whoever plans to do your decorating, look at the Sanctuary. You must provide the candles. Only dripless candles may be used. They must be in a candelabra that will catch all drippings. All flowers and candelabras are to be placed on plastic covers to protect carpets.

Receptions

Wedding receptions may be held in the church. Receptions should be held in the Fellowship Hall. Meals can be served but you must provide the service. Items available to you are tables, chairs, serving dishes, and tablecloths. Use of kitchen is permissible but we ask that you arrange for clean up.

Special Considerations

Rice, confetti, birdseed or other such material shall not be thrown or scattered inside or outside the building.
